Below are our Scentsy Buddies - perfect for your child!!  I have two babies (2 years old and 4 months old) and they both love their buddies.  These stuffed animals come with a SCENT PAK (in any scent you like!).  This Scent Pak is inserted in the back of the Buddy by a zipper...and it fills your childs space with so much fun fragrance!  As they take them on the go, the smell reminds them of home!  Such a calming and soothing affect for young ones.

Below, we have our great new bath, body and LAUNDRY line, called Layers by Scentsy.  These are fabulous!  I especially love the Dryer Disks (a refreshing way to scent your clothing!) and the solid perfume (a perfume stick that rubs on like deodorant!  Leaves no residue and smells fabulous!)

Bag Painting on a Rainy Day

So how did y'all like the painted sugar cookies post??  I'm telling you, my 2 year old had a blast learning and eating as we went through the colors and tastes.  Well here is another activity I did with her, one rainy day.  It's basically "finger painting", minus the mess...because at this time I was big and pregnant, and having extreme back pain.  The last thing I wanted to do was hold my toddler up to a sink to wash her hands after finger painting.  So here's what we did!!

I got a zip lock bag.  Added a few squirts of different color paints - any paints will do because they don't get their hands messy!

Once your paint is in the bag, zip it up and TAPE THE TOP!!  Because believe me, toddlers know how to open ziplock bags.  ;)  I used regular Scotch tape, but would have been more comfortable using packing tape.

Next, I put her in her portable high chair and handed her the bag. She went to town squishing it with her fingers...and of course we talked about the colors and about how we were mixing them together.

This was her finished product.  Maybe not too pretty after all is said and done, but she had a blast.  She wanted to do more bags, but this was the last I had in the whole house!  So we'll be doing this again very soon!

You could cut open the bag, down one of the sides, and lay it out to dry.  But I'm not sure how well the paint would adhere to the plastic bag...I guess it depends on what type of paint you choose!!

Also, for older toddlers and children, you can just use TWO colors of paint and have them mix them together to learn what color is made out of the combination of paints!

Y'all let me know what you think.  And if you would change anything!!

Painted Sugar Cookies

I have a 2 year old daughter, and some days it is difficult to keep her occupied.  While I was pregnant with our 2nd daughter, I had to come up with ways to entertain my 2 year old indoors.  At the time she was only 21 months old...so this is what I came up with!

"PAINTED" Sugar Cookies!!  And let me tell you, she LOVED it!!

I followed a basic sugar cookie recipe.  Mine came out really soft and chewy, perfect for little teeth like a toddler!  (So that is something to consider when picking out a cookie recipe!)

Next, I followed a basic powdered sugar icing recipe.  (Sorry, no recipes for these can be found on the blog.)  I then split up the icing into small containers and added food coloring to each one...they all came out to be beautiful pastel colors!

I sat my daughter in her high chair and first handed her a paint brush and explained what we were about to do with the cookies!  (She was at first more interested in tasting the cookies.)  ;)

I then handed her the icing and let her paint away.  She loved it!!

And of course she *HAD* to taste the icing!!

I didn't get pictures of us adding sprinkles, but I had a container with 4 different colors of sprinkles that I added to the top.  *She chose the colors of sprinkles for EACH cookie and we talked about the colors as I added sprinkles for her.*  This was a great and TASTY learning experience for her!!

Our finished products!
