DIY Laundry Detergent with Scentsy Washer Whiffs

Has everyone seen the big craze on Pinterest - making your own laundry detergent??  I have found several different recipes and some say it lasts 5-6 months...which is amazing!  Some recipes are for powder detergent while others are liquid.  Some are scented and some are not!  And of course my favorite is NON-SCENTEDWhy??  Because I'm a Scentsy consultant and can scent my own!!

Well here's what I've done:
I followed this recipe found here - beingcreativetokeepmysanity.blogspot.com

And I paired it with these Washer Whiffs from Scentsy:
My Team's favorite Scent: QUIVER
Also comes in: Coconut Lemongrass

These Washer Whiffs smell amazing!  Towels, sheets, clothing, etc!  I cannot say enough about the "Quiver" scent...there is just something about it, when you nestle yourself in your clean Scentsy smelling sheets - well, you QUIVER!  Smells amazing!

And then, after you wash them with your handmade laundry detergent and Layers by Scentsy Washer Whiffs - you throw them in the dryer with these:

Layers by Scentsy Dryer Disks!
These Dryer Disks are the finishing touch to long lasting AMAZING smelling laundry!  Scentsy scents are known to last the longest of any scents out there!

So you definitely should give this combo a try if you are considering DIY laundry detergent!  The Scentsy products work *best* with non-scented detergents, however I have used both scented (store bought) and non-scented (DIY) detergents and the scents smell amazing either way!  Trust me on this!!!  ;)

**** 2016 Update:  I am no longer a Scentsy consultant, but I bet you know plenty of ladies (and men!) who are.  I have removed my Scentsy website address but still intend on keeping this recipe up.  I love it...and I still LOVE my Scentsy Washer Whiffs.  :)

  1. What are the whiffs made of? I try to stay as natural as possible but I do need something to add to my diy detergent. I miss my clothes smelling good.

    1. They are made of the following:
Coarse Salt (Sodium Chloride) - to act as a carrier for the scent
Cellulose Gel - to act as a binder for the scent to the salt
      Fragrance
      Coloring
